How to Choose a Swimsuit for Pool Training

Swimming several times a week is very different from wearing a swimsuit once a year at the beach. A training swimsuit needs to last, resist chlorine and remain comfortable session after session — while still making you want to wear it. Here is how to choose the right one.

I/ Why lifestyle swimwear is not enough for regular training

A swimsuit designed for the beach or occasional pool use is generally not made to withstand repeated exposure to chlorine. After a few weeks of regular training, it can stretch, fade or become transparent in the water. If you swim several times a week and do not want to replace your swimsuit every two months, choose one specifically designed for intensive use.

II/ The key criteria: support, chlorine resistance and quick drying

Three features make all the difference in a training swimsuit:

- Support: well-positioned straps, whether crossed or reinforced, keep the swimsuit securely in place during laps, including for larger busts.
- Chlorine and UV resistance: this helps the swimsuit retain its colour and elasticity over months of training, including in outdoor pools.
- Quick drying: particularly useful when you sometimes have two sessions on the same day.

Recycled polyester/PBT fabric generally meets all three requirements, with the added benefit of being a more responsible material.

A good training swimsuit is not only about technical performance. Swimming several times a week does not mean giving up style: swimmers still want to feel good, and choosing a swimsuit for its colour or pattern can directly boost the motivation to train. This is where OZUR clearly stands apart from purely technical brands, with swimsuits designed to be both durable and desirable.

III/ One-piece or two-piece: which is better for regular swimming?

A one-piece swimsuit is generally the safest choice for intensive training. It provides more stable support throughout a session and requires fewer adjustments while swimming. A two-piece can still work very well for moderate training, provided the top offers reliable support through crossed straps or a reinforced band. It also lets you create your own colour combinations to suit your mood.

IV/ Our selection for everyday training

OZUR's Training Collection brings together one-piece designs created for regular use: reliable support, chlorine and UV resistance, quick-drying fabric, and colours and patterns that stand apart from conventional technical swimwear. Everything you need to train regularly without compromising on performance or style.
